At Last...

So, we finally have power again at our house. It only took 7 FULL days for them to hook us back up. God I'm so irritated right now.

Let's start at the beginning, last Sunday, we were up getting ready to spend a lazy day around the house (like Sundays should be) when we hear this popping noise and a loud crash. Well, the neighbor's tree lost another of the "deadly" branches (3rd one in 3 weeks) so we didn't think anything of it. We went outside to investigate and the wind was picking up a little, but nothing drastic yet. I go back in to check e-mail and the power started flickering, I told Chris that we should probably shut the computers down until this thing passes through. No sooner than those words left my mouth then we lost everything. We stumble over to the door into the garage and open it up to see limbs and branches flying past the garage. Well, we joined our neighbors outside to watch the flurry then leave to see how much is with out power (we were bored). We finally find a Hooter's that's open and decide to have lunch. We head back home and I call LG&E to report the outage and see how long it's going to be. I didn't talk to anyone, but the recording said there were 250,000 people with out power.

To make a long story short(er), all told there were 350,000 with out power in Louisville and about 150,000 in Southern Indiana. They kept saying it will be just a couple of days before everyone has power back. Well, Monday evening, they finally made the prediction that it would be 10-14 days for some most would be back on by the 4th or 5th day. When we got up yesterday morning there were still 58,000 with out power and our whole neighborhood was part of that. So, we saw the crews working at about 11 am to get power back, they were telling us 1-2 hours and it would be up. They finally got us power back at about 3:30 yesterday afternoon, so what do Chris and I do, turn on every light and TV and computer in the house. Finally we have power again, 7 long days later.

Now, I have to go grocery shopping and replace EVERYTHING in my fridge and freezer. :( At least we are all safe and all have power again. I hope that everyone that is still without gets power back sooner rather than later.

Dishcloths

Ok, So I promised that I would show off the dishcloths that I did. One is a sheep done with bobbles and the other is a horse. I think they are cute, hopefully my swap partner will like them too.
